Finally, after months of waiting, the Xlive Bluetooth MP3 Player has finally landed at our offices. Unfortunately, it is currently only available in the guise of 256MB. But, as this is the most popular memory size, we don't see this as a problem. With the diva Gem, you are stuck with MP3 or AAC, now, we all know that the AAC format is not widely used, but this is the great thing about the Xlive… it supports MP3 and WMA thus making it more attractive to the majority of digital audio users.
The Xlive has the kind of specification expected from today's generation of MP3 Players. Offering the standard features such as FM Radio with station pre-sets, FM radio recording, voice recording (36 hours based on 16Kbps 256MB), Direct MP3 encoding, Re-chargeable Li-polymer battery and of course, wireless bluetooth connection.
The idea behind the Xlive, is to allow you to listen to your music while on the move, but, should you receive a phone call (a bluetooth enabled mobile phone is obviously needed) whilst listening to music, the Xlive will pause the music, and allow you to accept the call without having to remove your phone from your pocket. Once the call has ended, your music will start up again. Can't be bothered to remove the phone from your pocket to make a call? No problem, you can dial out using the Xlive!
The Xlive will also record your phone conversations (remember this is illegal if you don't tell the other person) leaving you to upload to your PC at a later date or just re-listen to the conversation to refresh your memory.
Add updateable firmware, direct MP3 encoding, SRS WOW digital sound and USB mass storage support and we think you will agree, that the Xlive has other bluetooth enabled players easily beaten.
